Trailer catchup

Time for me to catch up on some trailers, everyone else has blogged them by now but here's my opinions:

Firstly Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which looks like Austin Powers + Roadl Dahl remixed by Tim Burton., err..which is what it is. Johnny Depp looks great as Willy Wonka and no doubt the whole feel will have that off kilter Buron feel to it.

Next, War of the Worlds, a Tom Cruise, Steven Spielberg collaboration. The teaser trailer is very classy, but gives almost nothing away. The strap line is "They're already here" which conjures up all sorts of implications. The trailer has that Close Encounters feel to it and I'm definitely looking forward to it.

Finally Batman Begins. I had some trouble viewing this with Firefox and Quicktime, it kept crashing, so I had to resort to the eviilllll RealPlayer. Anyway the trailer itself is okay but not as good as the teaser trailer. It looks like the film will be a bit more conventional than I thought. Hopefully it will mange to retain some coolness and not degenerate into a standard summer blockbuster.
