Definitely check out the Firefly TV series on DVD. Every single epsiode was excellent.

Firefly is most definitely one of the best Science Fiction television series made in recent years. It's quite a bit more dark and gritty than Star Trek: TNG, but for many Sci Fi fans, the change was a good one. We've had enough "utopian tomorrows" and "transporter-miracles" that leave the entire cast in exactly the same place as they were at the beginning of the show. Joss's writing is second to none in Firefly. I also enjoyed the ensemble-effect of the cast. Beg, borrow or ... um ... rent (although I'd recommend buying it) a Firefly box-set if at all possible. I promise it won't disappoint.

I think I shall make Firefly a priority then.
