The Prisoner to be remade

Why oh why oh why. The Prisoner is going to be remade. Why? The first half of The Prisoner episode are absoloutely brilliant, clever, bizzare, funny and quirky. The second half of the episodes descends into utter rubbish, concluding with the worst ending to a show ever. But stil, why remake it?
