Last night was the Empire Awards 2006. Empire is just about the biggest film magazine in the UK and the awards are voted by the readers.

Some notable SF winners...

  • Scene Of The Year : Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith 'The Birth Of Vader'
  • Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy : Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith. (video acceptance by George Lucas)
  • Best Actor : Johnny Depp, Charlie And The Chocolate Factory
  • Best Movie : King Kong (video acceptance by Peter Jackson)

Including video of the acceptance speeches.
