Cinematical are reporting that Steven Spielberg is doing a new SF film "in the vein of 2001: A Space Odyssey."

Right on! I agree 100%! I'm so sick of the remakes, re-dos, rewrites, "reimagining," and campy tongue-in-cheek reflective films of 70s TV shows. Maybe he’s trying to make some more money to pay for Munich. I think that film is still in the red.
What's annoying is that Spielberg had shown that he can make great SF films. Oh well, perhaps he'll pull one out of the bag.
