The Torchwood crew find a mysterious alien device, and begin to see ghosts.

Hmm. So there's this alien device. It lets you see echoes of the past. And with the other half, the future. Nothing too original there, so did they do anything to spice it up, add a new twist.
Nope.
A bog standard see the past and future story that we've all seen and read a thousand times. Oh dear. I hope they've got some SF literate writers for the rest of the series, this episode was so dull and cliched.
There's not even any enigmas. The Torchwood crew don't know anything about Captain Jack. But we do! He's not an enigma to us at all.
Even the character development this episode was a bit dull. Plus the Welsh accents seemed even more extreme (boyo!).
