Life On Mars - Season 2, Episode 1

- Post a Comment

Life On Mars returns for its second, and last, series with a great episode that has everything we've come to expect.

Spoilers ahead...

This is the sort of episode of Life On Mars I like, more than just a 70s cop show, but a good dose of SF.

A villain that Sam had apprehended in 2006 gets off the charges and begins torturing Sam whilst he is in a coma (in 2006). Meanwhile, Sam in 1973 tries to pin some violent murders on the villain and arrest him, to prevent him killing Sam in 2006.

Cool. Even better, the villain is played by the superb Marc Warren. And, the pain from the torture in 2006 interfered significantly in the 1973 story, which I liked, not just a 30 second clip of a TV talking to him as in other episodes.

Now, assuming Sam actually is in a coma (which may not be true), this episode means that either: Sam changed the future, or, he completely imagined the "original" future.

Or everything could just be a dream.

Nice.

Please end the series satisfactorily though. Please.
