I prefer the silvery standard cover to this one... and illustrations are all well and good, but they tend to leave me a bit cold... a bit like the Lord Of The Rings illustrated books. The illustrations are all very nice, but hardly ever match my own imagination!
I know what you mean about illustrations. But my paperback edition of Snow Crash is so battered I'd just like a pristine one to gaze at :-)
