Adama tries to put the fleet back together.
Verdict : Without Baltar I'd call the episodes a disaster. Fortunately his scenes distract from the stilted cheeseyness of the rest of the episodes (just).
Oh dear.
Unfortunately only the bad bits of these two episodes stick out for me. Hopefully it's just a blip where they try and tie up the ends of the last season.
So much of it was just cheesey and stilted and pretty rubbish. Adama has turned soppy and tries to be dramatic and it all seems forced for his character. He's a hardened soldier, I just can't see why he'd stand on the bridge and say "I'm putting the fleet back together" and the applause!? What is going on? That was just terrible.
And the tomb of Athena?! What was going on? Is it magic? Or VR tech? Were they hallucinating? Or what? And how can the 12 signs of the tribes (the horoscope signs) be visible from Earth? That's all backwards. It means that everyone had to come from Earth first then go to Kobol. Or something. Dreadful.
The good bits were Starbuck getting back and looking wasted and tired and shell shocked. But then she just played army on Kobol which was crap.
Baltar stole the show. Number Six doing the most radical costume switch possible, naked in a Christine Keeler pose to pony tail, jogging suit, no makeup in a blink of an eye. Nice. And she's not a chip, so baltar thinks he is crazy. But then a pregnant Sharron arrives and Baltar starts believing again. A bit of a cop out, but still the best thing this season.
Hopefully we can now get back to some good episodes.
